Citation Needed

Friends, my sincere apologies for neglecting my duties as your errant missive-maker. I was pretty good for a while, sending out my tales of nothing on the regular. Then… I don’t know what happened. I think I went away for a bit. Then I lost my job. Then I remembered I have this, so I’ve returned. ALERT THE MEDIA

Some of you may have seen me talking about this on Twitter. The other day I was listening to Van Halen’s “Fair Warning” and realizing that I didn’t know where the album’s cover art came from. The internet being what it is, I found it pretty quickly. And best of all, I discovered other work by the same artist, and that made me happy. The internet made me happy! Wonder of wonders!

My tastes in art tend toward darkness. I love things that disturb me, and I know that isn’t everyone’s cup o’ noodles. I don’t know if it indicates anything in particular about my psyche, given how much I also love cute things. Here, look:

It’s easy to think that we are one way or the other, especially if you do online research about it. For example, if I were to self-diagnose my mental state I’m sure I could get a confirmation very easily, regardless of what I chose to call myself. But that’s the problem with the internet: everything’s out there. You can get the answers to every question you want, but the problem is that it’s so difficult to ask the right question.

Anyway. This was meant to be short, just to get me going again. I have plans for 2024, and it includes being more creative. And being more creative to me means just fucking sitting down and creating, not over-thinking. So welcome back, Constant Reader. I’m happy and grateful to have you. Talk to you soon.
